Dr. Don Cross began his career as a Group Therapist in Tallahassee after receiving a degree in Developmental Psychology from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Working for the State of Florida, he received advanced training as an accreditation auditor for treatment facilities, and was responsible for ensuring compliance with policy and procedures established by the standards of the American Correctional Association.
It was after he and his wife were involved in a severe auto accident, that chiropractic made its first major impact on his life. After seeing the miraculous effects of chiropractic on himself, Dr. Cross entered Logan Chiropractic College in January, 1991. Upon his graduating and associating with other doctors, he and his wife returned to Florida and began practice in Quincy, Fl. on January 1, 1997. After extensive further training, he was named a Fellow of the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture in 2000 and also became Board Certified as a Naturopathic Physician in 2001 by the American Naturopathic Medical Association and later a Diplomate of the College of Manipulative & Body-Based Practices.
Dr. Cross has been very active in his profession. Elected to the Board of Directors of the Florida Chiropractic Association in 1999, during his 12 years of service he’s held all elected positions including President. Dr. Cross later became involved with national chiropractic issues and made several trips to Washington to lobby for various patient’s rights issues and health care issues in general. In recognition of his efforts he was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel in 2005.
In 2002 he became Board Certified as a Disability Analyst and was later honored to be names a Fellow of the American Board of Disability Analyst. Dr. Cross also began teaching his fellow chiropractic physicians continuing education courses and eventually became a Certified Instructor for the Council on Chiropractic Guidelines and Practice Parameters. In 2008, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Congress of Chiropractic State Associations. He has served as the District 3 representative for the Southeastern U.S., as well as Treasurer. He is currently serving as Second Vice-President for this national organization and continues in his commitment to his profession.
Dr. Cross began teaching at Palmer Chiropractic College/Florida in 2012, teaching doctors about to graduate about the business aspects of practice management. The ObamaCare Compliance Manual is his effort to help doctors survive and thrive under the coming changes in healthcare.
